A magical encounter
Horseback riding at a 5-star hotel in Austria
Horse keeping has a long tradition at the Posthotel Achenkirch. Senior chef Karl J. Reiter acquired his first horses in 1975; in 1985, the first stallion from the Spanish Riding School in Vienna joined us. Today, our imperial Lipizzaner horses captivate horse lovers from near and far. 8 Lipizzaners and 3 Shetland ponies are housed in our stables, which are freely accessible to guests. Weekly guided tours provide deeper insights.
Our riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders take place in our indoor arena (20 x 40 m) or on the outdoor riding arena (40 x 60 m). Options include private or group lessons, or simply leading or feeding the horses in the stables.
Already an experienced rider? Canter with one of our instructors across wide meadows or through snow-covered forests and feel free as the wind!
Romantic moments for two, gliding gently through blooming or snow-covered mountain landscapes. Instruction in carriage driving is also available.
You may also bring your own horse for your horseback riding holiday in Austria. For stays of 4 days or more, we can accommodate your horse in one of our guest horse boxes.
