Holiday happiness
on two wheels
Wind in your hair - a smile on your face
Our Adults Only retreat is surrounded by a vast network of beautifully maintained cycling and mountain biking routes. They lead through the untouched landscapes of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains, or more gently through the valley and around Lake Achensee. Whether short, easy rides, ambitious full-day tours, or adrenaline-fuelled trails and downhill routes - beginners and experienced cyclists alike enjoy pure freedom on two wheels, accompanied by breathtaking views.
The best cycling tours around Posthotel Achenkirch
- Achensee eastern-shore route: Start in Achenkirch and follow the lakeside path to Maurach.
- Tour to the Gramai Alm: from Achenkirch to Pertisau, then through the Falzthurntal valley to the Gramai Alm. After around 300 metres of elevation gain, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views and a delicious alpine break.
- Steinberg loop: from Achenkirch to Gasthof Waldhäusl, then towards Durrahof along the Steinberger Ache and over Tannegg. Return via the paved road.

Healthy cycling
Hardly any sport combines exercise, nature and shared experience as harmoniously as cycling. Pedalling gently strengthens the heart, circulation and muscles without putting strain on the joints. Riding on uneven terrain further improves balance and coordination, while the fresh mountain air has a calming effect on body, mind and soul. The magnificent views or a well-earned refreshment break at the end of the tour give you new energy and confidence. And it makes no difference whether you cycle leisurely along green alpine meadows or race along more demanding trails.
