Where the journey begins - for more than 100 years
The postal station on Lake Achensee was first mentioned around 1500. Since 1918 and over four generations, the Post at Achensee has been in the hands of the Reiter family. From the original inn, a hotel initially emerged and later, step by step, the current 5-star wellness retreat. Since 1982, we have been known as Posthotel Achenkirch. Over time, we have steadily expanded our offers and adapted them to the needs of each era.
Looking ahead
Senior hosts Karl and Karin Reiter not only renewed the appearance of our house; they were also pioneers, being among the first hoteliers in Tyrol to offer wellness holidays. A bathing complex, a treatment department and a beauty farm were created. Our own farm and Lipizzaner stud were further milestones. Since 2004, their son Karl C. Reiter, together with Marianna Reiter, has managed Posthotel Achenkirch. Their spirit of innovation, combined with a sense of tradition, shows that this is a place where journeys not only begin, but continually evolve.
