Tangible anticipation
A festive Advent and Christmas spa break in Tyrol
From the beginning of December, a special kind of magic fills the Posthotel. Amid twinkling lights, the gentle scent of fir trees and festive sounds at our 5-star hotel, Christmas feels just as it once did: warm, peaceful and deeply connected.
While thick snowflakes fall outside, we serve seasonal delicacies in our beautifully decorated dining rooms. And after a few hours spent in the enchantingly snow-covered winter landscape, there is nothing more comforting than warming up in our spa world.
This year, treat yourself to the gift of a Christmas holiday in Austria.
→ A romantic day at the Posthotel
→ Our Advent program
The day begins slowly with a soothing yoga session or guided meditation. At the breakfast buffet with TCM corner, you’ll nourish body and mind for the day ahead with regional delicacies.
The snow-covered landscape around Lake Achensee is perfect for a romantic winter walk. During a visit to Innsbruck’s Christmas market, you can warm your hands around a steaming mug of mulled wine.
Back at the Posthotel, undisturbed tranquillity awaits in our spacious spa world. As the day slowly draws to a close, you drift through the steaming waters and let complete relaxation take over.
We welcome you to our lovingly decorated parlours, where we serve an enchanting gourmet menu inspired by the season. And for Christmas Eve, we have prepared something truly special...

Snow hike
to Lake Achensee
Our recommendation for immersing yourself in the winter landscape
The approximately three-hour walk from the Posthotel to the northern shore of Lake Achensee and back is particularly enchanting during the Christmas season. With only around 100 metres of elevation gain, it is suitable for walkers of all abilities. The route begins at Achenkirch Parish Church and first passes the charming Annakircherl chapel before continuing along the upper road through the Fiechtersiedlung settlement. Follow the signs for “Wanderweg zum See” (lake trail) until you reach the car park of the Christlum ski lifts. Here, the path branches off to the right and climbs gently towards the slightly elevated Hotel Das Kronthaler. From there, the trail descends again to the Schrambacherhof and continues along meadow paths to the northern shore of Lake Achensee. The return journey follows the same route back to the hotel.
