Autumn tip: The Sunken Temple
We whisk you away into a world of well-being and relaxation
At the Posthotel Achenkirch, a narrow corridor leads to a place that unites silence, warmth and security: the Sunken Temple. Here, deep underground, a world unfolds in which fire and water, heat and cold act in harmony - a sanctuary for body and soul.
A place of energy and renewal
At the centre of the temple lies the round meditation room beneath a glass dome. Soft light, fine materials and clean lines create an atmosphere that invites inner balance. Waterbeds and a fire chalice, relaxation areas and three cosy nest-like retreats provide comfort and strength.
Sauna worlds with character
Each area has its own energy:
- Soledom - steam dome with brine from the Karwendel region for natural cleansing.
- Drachensauna - essential oils flow from the dragon’s nostrils, radiating soothing warmth.
- Tempelsauna - inspired by Far Eastern architecture with Indian sandstone and gentle dry heat.
- Pfad des Wassers - a Kneipp what therapy circuit that revitalises circulation and the senses.
Autumn time is temple time
Especially in October, when fresh mountain air and autumn colours dominate outside, the Sunken Temple offers the ideal retreat. An hour down here feels like a day’s holiday - restorative, soothing, peaceful.
Opening times: daily 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Sauna area: from 11:00 am
