What do you
feel like today?
A summer full of possibilities awaits you at Achensee
Design your summer holiday your way. Our facilities include a riding stable as well as four tennis courts (two indoor, two outdoor), and just a short distance away you can take part in water sports such as sailing and surfing or adventure sports like rafting and canyoning. For those seeking heights, climbing, paragliding, and ballooning are all available.
The tennis hall (2 courts) and the squash court are the perfect place to train speed, stamina and coordination. If needed, you can borrow the necessary equipment directly from our tennis hotel in Austria, and we are also happy to find you a playing or training partner. If you would like a few valuable tips from a professional, simply book a private lesson or one of our course packages.
Feel the power of nature up close during one of the many water sports on Lake Achensee. A gentle southerly wind in the morning and a strong northerly wind in the afternoon create ideal conditions for windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing foiling and sailing. You can explore the lake in a more relaxed way by canoeing, stand-up paddling or taking a boat trip. Diving in Achensee opens up a completely new world of adventures. The crystal-clear water offers fascinating insights into the underwater world. You can of course also swim in the lake: Tyrol’s largest lake has drinking-water quality and reaches 18-22 °C in summer. Public bathing spots can be found in Achenkirch, Pertisau and Maurach.
Nature, team spirit and a healthy dose of adrenaline await in the thrilling trend sports of rafting and canyoning. Rafting involves navigating a white-water river in a robust inflatable boat, while canyoning means travelling through gorges on foot - abseiling, jumping, sliding and swimming. Rafting is possible on the River Inn, canyoning is offered in Achenwald in various levels of difficulty.
At the Achenkirch forest high-ropes course you climb through the treetops on six routes up to 15 metres high. After a short introduction from the team, you then make your way through the course independently. The adventure park also offers base jumping and archery. Fans of heights will also love the brand-new Achensee Five-Peaks Via Ferrata, which takes you across the central Rofan peaks and offers magnificent panoramic views. The advantage: it consists of five different via ferratas that can be combined according to the level of difficulty you prefer.
Want to go even higher? Tandem paragliding with an experienced guide or a ride on the Airrofan Skyglider lets you experience the true meaning of taking to the skies. Below you, the glittering Achensee; all around, the mountains stretch into the distance; and above you lies nothing but deep blue sky. A little calmer, and with a romantic touch, a balloon ride takes you high above the Tyrolean Alps. Up there, when the world seems tiny, you may even discover a new perspective on everyday life.
Right in the Achental valley you can enjoy the over 100-year-old narrow-gauge cog railway with steam locomotive, the Tiroler Steinöl Adventure Museum, a guided tour of the local brewery with a tasting of Achensee beer, or the museum village in Eben am Achensee showcasing regional traditions and crafts. For a longer day trip, the Swarovski Kristallwelten in Wattens beckon, as do Innsbruck with the Goldenen Dachl, the Bergisel ski jump and the Alpenzoo, the silver mine and the Zeiss Planetarium in Schwaz, or Salzburg and Munich with their many attractions. Feel free to ask us for more insider tips.
