EXPERIENCE HISTORY RIGHT ON YOUR DOORSTEP – ONLY AT THE POSTHOTEL!

Most working people will know that 31 May 2018 is a bank holiday. Many of us will probably also know that this holiday is known as the Feast of Corpus Christi. However, very few people are aware that the Posthotel in Achenkirch is at the centre of all the action on this day!

An annual tradition right on your doorstep

The Feast of Corpus Christi celebrations begin close to the Posthotel, starting in the early hours of the morning. At 9 a.m. there is a worship at the neighbouring Pfarrkirche church before the traditional custom procession takes place through the streets of Achenkirch. As in previous years, the parade will see local guards and residents – naturally sporting traditional costume. A local band will provide the procession music. It’s extremely easy for guests at the Posthotel Achenkirch to participate in this event: Simply step out of the front door of this 5* hotel to be at the heart of all the action! Anyone with a hotel room with views of our alpine golf course can even watch the parade from their room.

The Feast of Corpus Christi procession in Achenkirch takes place right in front of the 5* Posthotel – our hotel manager Karl Reiter will also be joining in the events.

The Mayor welcomes to the Posthotel

To round off the lively tradition, the guards and musicians gather at the Posthotel for refreshments. Everyone celebrates together over soup and sausages, and various questions are answered for any curious hotel guests. Opportunities like this don’t come up every day!

Our tip:

Anyone interested in experiencing this end of May tradition with us will love the pure romance, nature and recuperation package, which includes a 3-night stay and spa treatments. Alternatively, the exclusive 100-year package including a 4-night stay is a great choice for this year’s hotel anniversary. You’ll need to take an extra day off on 1 June but we are sure that it’ll be worth it for this special occasion!
