Dear guests, dear readers,

this is where we intend to present our team to you at regular intervals in future, to give you an impression of our hotel, to let you know who will be welcoming you, or perhaps to see familiar faces from your last holiday. Today we are beginning with Fabian, our Chef de Cuisine who, according to the Falstaff Guide, is one of the 10 best chefs in Tirol.

Thank you for taking the time to speak to us – perhaps you can tell us a little about yourself. Who are you? Where do you come from?

My name is Fabian Leinich and I come from the province of Styria, the green heart of Austria. As I work as head chef here at the Posthotel, I’ll tell you my favourite dish right now: pumpkin cream soup with pumpkin seed oil.

What brought you to the Posthotel Achenkirch?

I always wanted to work at the Posthotel as it has a very good reputation and is highly recommended by other cooks. Lake Achensee is also a beautiful place with plenty of things to do here.

What do you like most about your job and your work here with us?

Every day is a new challenge and I really enjoy working with food. I would also particularly emphasise the friendly relationships between all parts of the hotel.

What was your most remarkable or best experience at the Posthotel in Achenkirch?

A good question – there have been so many! The big Christmas party in the lobby with all the staff and guests, the team outing with the kitchen crew – and of course the day I became head chef.

What in your view makes the Posthotel Achenkirch so special?

Actually everything here is special, whether it is the characteristic smell of the Posthotel; or perhaps the Reiter family, always ready to listen, or the enthusiasm that my colleagues show for their work each day.

Finally, what is your personal tip for something absolutely unmissable when you are on holiday at the Posthotel Achenkirch or on the Achensee?

Well, the kitchen table in the middle of the kitchen area is an endless source of culinary delights; then again you could enjoy a good glass of wine with landlord Hannes after a walk up to the hut on the Zöhreralm, or explore around the Achensee and Gramai by mountain bike…
