8TH ACHENSEE LITERATOUR: 9-12TH MAY 2019
Shimmering water, idyllic boat trips, rugged mountain landscapes and an amazing backdrop everywhere you look – this sums up Achensee in Tirol! It’s no wonder that this landscape has served as a source of inspiration for various authors. It will be here from 9-12th May 2019 that writers of various genres will come together for the seventh time to bring visitors closer together with readings of their stories and works in all kinds of locations. As usual, the Achensee Literatour will be home to exciting stages, inspiring readers and stimulating discussions – don’t miss out!
Achensee Literatour – Programme 2019
9th May | Altes Widum Achenkirch | 7 p.m. | free entry
On the opening evening, visitors to the Achensee Literatour can look forward to readings by Alexa Hennig von Lange and David Fuchs. Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion about “The bookstore of the future“. Therefore, publisher Markus Hatzer, the manager of Tyrolia, Stephan Bair, as well as the publisher representative of Diogenes, Bettina Wagner, and Joachim Leitner of the Tiroler Tageszeitung are invited.
10th May | Posthotel Achenkirch, hotel lobby | 3:30 p.m. | free entry
This year, it is David Fuchs who will be in the Posthotel Achenkirch for the Achensee Literatour. He will be reading selected passages from his new and still unpublished book in the hotel lobby of the 5-star hotel. He was nominated for it last year for the Österreichische Buchpreis.
10th May | Literature on the boat, from Pertisau | 7:30 p.m. | EUR 25 per person
The boat will depart from the pier in Pertisau including with it ServusTV moderator Thomas Rottenberg, big hitter Bernhard Aichner as well as the actress Lisa Hörtnagl from the Tiroler Landestheater to round off the boat reading. 11th May | Erfurter Hütte | 11 a.m. | EUR 22 per person
At this year’s the author and columnist Doris Knecht will take you on the tour with her novel “Path“. In a relaxed mountain setting, she will take you to Southeast Asia. It is all about a missing daughter, about holding and letting go, about freedom and forces. Everyone will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Rofanseilbahn lift in Maurach, with the reading commencing at 11:00 a.m. at the Erfurter Hütte. The price includes the lift ascent and descent as well as the reading at an altitude of 1,831 meters.
11th May | Altes Widum Achenkirch | 8 p.m. | EUR 12 per person
Tanja Malijartschuk, the winner of the Ingeborg Bachmann Award 2018, will present her novel “The Blue Whale of Remembrance” at the Alten Widum. Besides, the TYROLIA achensee-literatour-scholarship will be awarded. The price goes to Daniel Wisser who was honored with the Österreichischer Buchpreis 2019 already. 12th May | Walk along the Dien-Mut-Weg path to the Rodlhütte lodge | 10 a.m. | free attendance
The crowning finale of the exciting Achensee Literatour 2019 will be the murder mystery walk with Nicola Förg. The big hitter has penned an extra short murder mystery for this walk around Achensee, which will be read after successfully reaching the Rodlhütte lodge at an altitude of 1,130 meters. The meeting point for this group walk will be the car park next to the St. Hubertus guest house in Pertisau.

In addition to the audience, the authors invited also cherish the many different perspectives of the Achensee Literatour that are revealed to participants at the event in Achenkirch. Visitors can discover new literature, writers benefit from the fantastic stage concept and the exchange with colleagues and readers. Let yourself be surprised!
